Outlook Express: Setting up an Email account
MICROSOFT OUTLOOK EXPRESS SETUP
1. Click [Tools] from the top menu. Then, select [Accounts] from the drop down menu.
2. Click [Add] from the side menu. Then, select [Mail] from the drop down menu.
3. Enter your name in the Display Name text field. This is simply what people will see the email is from. Most people just put their full name here.
ð Click [Next >]
4. Enter an E-mail address that you have previously created in CPanel. (replace the “user@yourdomain.com” with the email address you are actually setting up.)
ð Click [Next >]
5. Select [POP] as the server. Then enter POP3 and SMTP as mail.yourdomain.com (again, replace “yourdomain.com” with your actual domain name of the email address you are setting up)
ð Click [Next >]
6. Enter your E-mail address as the Account Name. Then, enter the password for that email address. So the “Email Address” field and the “User Name” field should be the same.
NOTE: Make sure you DO NOT check the box for “Secure Password Authentification (SPA)” we use another form of authentification which is explained in the next step.
ð Click [Next >]
ð Then Click [Finish>]
7. Turning on “SMTP AUTHENTIFICATION”. Once back to the “Internet Accounts” screen choose “Properties” > then goto the “Servers” tab > CHECK the box for “log on using Secure Password Authentification”
Click [OK >]
Everything is now setup. Enjoy your new email account
TROUBLESHOOTING :
* Email sent successfully from Outlook Express, but email bouncing with error status (Destination email valid)
Solution :
1. Click Tools – Account
2. Click Mail, Klik Your email account.
3. Click Properties
4. Click Server
5. Put a check in the My server required authentication check box
6. Click Setting
7. Input your email user and password.
